Professional writing for websites is a lot more then simply spreading words on a page. Here's an example: When writing about a Caribbean hotel, two descriptions of the guest accommodations were offered. In which would you rather stay?
Option A:
"The
upper floor rooms have a large veranda, dining deck and day bed, while
the lower floor rooms have similar facilities plus a private mini-pool.
The rooms offer a classic bed and our interior
designer has made clever use of natural tones, contemporary styles,
colonial accents and rich, dark woods."
Option B:
"Overall, the resort has used rich, tropical, dark woods and has contrasted them with neutral tones in all of their guest rooms. They have also used Travertine stone for the floor, which gives a soft and delicate look. The result are accommodations that breathe spaciousness - relaxed and soothing. The feeling is peaceful, tranquil and serene.
An airy veranda beckons island-style laziness
as do a daybed and dining area. Upon entering, one's eye is immediately
drawn to the romantic muslin draped, king sized, four poster bed, which is
the centerpiece of the room. Ground floor rooms also feature the added
luxury of an inviting plunge pool."
The fact is that both of these descriptions are
written about the same
accommodations at the same property. The difference is that
"Option A" is how the room description read before Left Shore Designs
offered its suggestions, detailed in "Option B".
It's Funny How
Flowers Will Brighten A Room!
Good website content writing is more than just "blowing flowers" into the text (although that is part of it). It helps your visitor understand and latch on to your offering. Read a few websites and while you may find they "buzz and twinkle" well, many still lack in effective, well-written content. This quality content is a major player in converting visitor's casual interest into demonstrable action.
